It looks like the walkway and handrails for the existing Students bridge are wood.
The competition documents say "construction shall include solutions and provision of endurable materials, which can be renewed and maintained in an easy way."
This would tend to steer me away from using wood.

Also note, there are no special provisions for drainage. Rain water just runs off the side of the walkway and drips into the Drava River.
